A unit must include its basis
Fluid ounces measure volume;net-weight ounces measure mass. The Method records explicitly declare 12 fl oz and 34 fl oz. The actual viewed Ace cream front says 3.4 oz without a visible fluid or net-weight qualifier. A complete current label is needed to settle the selected jar denominator,so the tool withholds both mass and volume rates for it.
Why density is not assumed
Converting grams or weight ounces into milliliters requires relevant product density. A cream and a gel wash need not share one density, and these selected sources do not provide a measured conversion. Water density is not a substitute. The tools refuse unsupported mass-to-volume and volume-to-mass comparisons.
A useful shopping case
When two handwash sizes share an explicit fluid-volume basis, you can compare merchandise price per fluid ounce. When two cream jars share verified net weight, you can compare their weight-unit costs. Combining both into a single cheapest-ounces ranking would obscure their different tasks and unsupported conversion.
Record rounded labels honestly
Keep source-declared metric amounts as printed when verified rather than manufacture extra precision from a rounded label. A unit-price decimal is arithmetic output, not a laboratory quantity measurement. No pump dose, skin coverage, medical application amount or number of uses follows from these package-unit calculations.
A specific purchase check
A retailer may render ounce-based unit prices automatically even when its own title omits the basis. That machine-generated label is another source field to check, not authority to turn all ounces into fluid ounces. Preserve the full declared unit on the actual current package before ranking unlike formats by an abbreviated unit-rate display.
