The component qualifier matters
The Method pump webpage makes a recycled-plastic bottle claim with the pump excluded. That qualifier must remain visible. It does not establish the composition of the pump,tube,spring or every future package version. A recyclable symbol also does not prove local acceptance for an assembled product.
Refill claims have changed scope
The viewed refill back image states 47 percent less plastic compared with three single-use bottles and excludes its cap from a recycled-plastic claim. Older retailer pouch descriptions use 80 percent wording. Those are different packaging comparisons,not interchangeable numbers or a life-cycle assessment conducted here.
A disposal decision case
A buyer can identify the actual container and component material markings,then consult the local program. Do not transfer acceptance from a rigid bottle to a flexible pouch or assume a pump is accepted with the bottle. The selected product-data SKU and viewed refill barcode differ,so exact current delivered packaging remains pending.
What the site does not certify
No compostability,biodegradation or local recycling guarantee is given. The site did not weigh packaging or calculate environmental savings. Keep the maker claim with its baseline,component exclusions and version,and treat municipal collection instructions as a separate current source.
A specific purchase check
A claim of 47 percent less plastic compares the selected packaging baseline stated on that viewed image. It is not 47 percent less total environmental impact and does not establish local collection acceptance. A pump-excluded recycled-content claim also does not turn every component into recycled material. Keep both the comparison baseline and excluded components visible.
